Blogging Vacation! **Updated with some test results**

I am taking a short blogging vacation...so don't worry!  I'm still alive!  :)

And never fear, Prayer Buddy!  Because I will not be taking a vacation from my prayers for you!!

Two things that I'll leave you with....first is a quote from Fr. Corapi that I've been really thinking about this week:

"Every one of us is called to take our place on the battle line.  Every one of us has a unique, precious, unrepeatable role to play.  To the degree that you correspond to that grace, souls will be saved.  To the degree that you fail to correspond to that grace, souls will be lost."  Fr. John Corapi

And the second is this scripture from Colossians:

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.  Col. 1:9-12

**Update**   NaPro doc called with SA results and I need some help/advice.  Here are my notes:

Count is great at 134 million.

Two things were "off":
1.  Morphology (percentage that are normal) = 14% and that is "relatively low"
2.  PH = high = infection

Her recommendation was for DH to see a urologist locally and "sometimes they tell you to supplement with Proxeed to improve morphology."

Anyone know anything about Proxeed?  Or what have your DHs done to improve sperm morphology?  Also the infection thing is kind of weird too, because we were both on antibiotics in December/January per my regular OBGYN to try to eliminate any possible infections.  I mean I guess they can come back (duh).

Would love ALL comments on this!  Dr. C did say "morphology of 14% shouldn't exclude as far as absolute infertility" (which I took to mean that there was probably still something else going on....like that wasn't our only problem).

Thank you!!!

I can't help with any of the medical stuff (but I will pray). I sure hope you come back soon!!! I do understand a blogging break, but I will miss you!

We didn't have a male factor, but I do know that a lot of the bloggers' husbands use Proxeed. If you don't hear from anyone that uses it, go through the blogs on Sew's blog and look through their histories. I think Fertile Thoughts used it...

And this song is amazing. I'm gonna ask for her CD for my birthday. I'm hooked.

love the song too! we don't have male factor but we do have infection. curious, do you have brown bleeding with your periods? it can be a sign of infection(but also other things like low progesterone). I am also wondering what abx you were on and for how long and if your periods became more bright red when you were on the antibiotic and less brown blood. If you want to talk about infections, feel free to email me directly.

WBR: I was on doxycycline for 2 weeks...and ALWAYS have brown bleeding with my period. That's really interesting. I guess I need to bring that up with Dr. C. I don't remember if bleeding changed while on the antibiotics...it was just not something I would have thought to note.

Thanks girls for the comments! I'm just trying to fit every piece of the puzzle together as I learn more and more! It's so helpful to read what you have to say!

After Dr. H found infection during lap and saw the brown blood on my charts, he scripted us two weeks of doxy. It did nothing for my brown blood. I had my two miscarriages after that, both on cycles with brown blood. Dr. H has come much further in his understanding of infections and is more aggressive after training under Dr. Toth. I would really love to talk to you more about this. Email me anytime and/or search "infection" on my blog and you will find more details of our story. I don't want to overwhelm, or to assume everyone has the same as us, but for us it was THE last piece to our IF puzzle and relatively easily solved.

My husband had a low count, but with good morphology so I don't know if this relates. But he took an antibiotic (can't remember which one - I'll have to check my history on my blog) and also fish oil for male infertility. It worked that next cycle! I hope you're getting closer my friend!

What do you guys mean by brown blood? Do you mean the entire period? Or just at the beginning/end?

I've had 3 miscarriages in 7 months (18 wks, 4 wks 6 days, and 6 wks 3 days) and am looking for answers. I've been reading your blog for a while now, and I'm praying you find your answers.

My DH took vitamins recommended in the book Fertility, Cycles, & Nutrition. He took Vitamin C, A, E, and L-Carnitine. I don't remember right now (and I don't have the book with me) which Vitamins were for what for him, but we went 3 1/2 years with no indication pregnancy would happen for us to 2 pregnancies in 6 months time after DH started taking this supplement. I'll email you when I get home and let you know what the book recommends.

Lavatea, when speaking about the brown blood (TEBB- tail-end brown bleeding) we mean brown spotting at the END of the periods, generally last more than 2 days.
I recommend you get in touch with WBR. While I, too, have been through treatment for infection, I do not believe that is the cause of my infertility- but I do believe in Dr Toth's work, and he seems to be the Holy Grail for women with unexplained miscarriages. WBR can give you more info- she has a great success story!

Angela, it does sound like infection could be a part of what's going on with you and R. Check out the book Fertile vs. Infertile at this website:

As for morphology, DH has always had low morph reports, and EVERY single Dr has told us it's no biggie. Even the REs, who could easily have told us, "This is your problem, and you need IVF with ICSI." And DH's most recent morph was 4%!!
With a count so high, it should not matter. PLUS, with those of us TTC naturally, no need to worry about all the amorphous sperm possibly fertilizing an egg and creating a less-than-healthy baby, because the cervix weeds out abnormal and infected sperm. (Check out my recent post on the post-coital exam.)

Don't be surprised if your Dr C doesn't put too much stock in infection. No one really does except Dr Toth, and to a certain degree, Dr Hilgers (and my NaPro Dr was also very supportive of it). Most other Drs, NaPro and non-NaPro, just don't know enough about it to have a solid opinion.

Thanks for the explanation. I often have several days of brown spotting. Some of my cycles have dragged on for up to 9 days with brown spotting making up the majority of the days. It's been a rough year.

for your hubby, eating cleanly (no hydrogenated foods, real food) no hot tubs, hot baths, lab tops on his lap etc are easy fixes. Proxeed is supposed to be great and can't hurt. There are also some great herbs for male factor.
